Craig was born in Wichita, Kansas, in the late Holocene, but grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is an Eagle Scout, has a B.S. in Geology from University of Tulsa, and a M.S. in Geology from University of New Mexico. He worked briefly in oil and gas and uranium exploration and for the BLM as District Geologist in Monticello, Utah, and Grand Junction. For the past 43 years (will retire in Jan 2020) worked a variety of positions, mostly as a Geologist, for the contractor to the U.S. Department of Energy at the Grand Junction Office. He has experience in assessing areas favorable for uranium deposits, characterizing uranium mill tailings sites for groundwater contamination, and location of abandoned uranium mines. Interests include hiking, skiing, running, fishing, mountaineering, geology/weather, worldwide travel/exploring.
